BOLTON COLLEGE – INSTALLATION OF FOREIGN LANGUAGE TELEVISION SYSTEM.

Again we were approached by the Smiths Group who were the electrical contractors working on the new Be-spokeBoltonUniversityBuilding. The client asked them for a foreign language system to be installed and distributed to the foreign language classrooms.

There request for more than 14 foreign language channels, and our solution to this was to install 6 commercial satellite dishes to the roof.

Each one would vary in size and be pointed to the correct satellites to suit the language required.

The cables were then connected to a series of multi-switches in the communications room and then distributed via a Category 5 distribution system to each room.

MANN ISLAND

DESIGN AND INSTALLATION OF FREEVIEW AERIAL DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM.

Smiths group approached Northwest Aerials with a dilemma for a new building they had started for BAM Construction. The original design was for the two buildings to have the provision for cable TV only to each apartment. The reason for this was to illuminate any unsightly aerials from the buildings structure. The problem they faced by having Cable TV was any client moving in would have to pay a subscription in order to view the television services. After numerous meetings it was decided it to be unfair for new clients to subscribe to a service they may not want.

Northwest Aerials was asked to design and install a Freeview distribution system for 866 television points but we could only use one television aerial and this could only go on one of the buildings. Also it was requested that the aerial would be as discreet as possible. The aerial was installed and the cable was run down the full length of the building and under the lower ground car park to the electrical riser on floor one of building 2. The cable length was over 180 meters. A suitable filter amplifier was installed which allowed us to control the amount signal to each apartment. We have now just completed the testing and commissioning of building 2 with perfect results.

We are about to start the installation on building 1 in the next three weeks and will be expecting the same perfect results.

OPAL STUDENT ACCOMODATION

INSTALLATION OF AERIALS AND FREEVIEW RECEIVERS

Northwest Aerials were approached by Philip Rowe the Group Head of IT for the Opal Property Group in late 2009 regarding the switch over from analogue to digital television for all of the accommodation blocks throughout the country that are under the Opal Property Group.

The problem Philip was faced with was he had over 2500 analogue televisions over 27 sites that would need to be changed in order for the students to carry on viewing the services, as this would work out very costly given the amounts required he asked Northwest Aerials to come up with the solution to firstly correctly upgrade the existing distribution systems and then supply and install a standalone set top box in each of the 2500 flats.

The solution Northwest Aerials came up with meant that Opal could utilize the existing televisions making the whole project very cost effective.

Northwest Aerials were also asked to manage and coordinate each installation which was successfully completed in February 2011.

Lincoln Court Sky + Upgrade

LINCOLN COURT

SKY PLUS SOLUTION AND UPGRADE.

Realty Management approached Northwest Aerials with the dilemma that the tenants at Lincoln Court, Salford had no provision for Sky Plus.

The original design for the building was to have the provision for sky digital television, but with the emergence of Sky plus an upgrade was required.

Northwest Aerials was asked to find a solution to the issue, design and install a distribution system that would allow for the flats to have the provision of Sky Plus.

A cabinet fitted with multi switches and amplifiers  was installed on the roof along with a new satellite dish and digital aerial array this solved the solution to the problem.
